There are good things and bad things about banks. It would be better if they just handed out money. |
There are days when I love my bank and days when I hate it. I love my bank when it fixes a problem I have with my card, like when I am double-charged. And there are days when I hate my bank for charging me outrageous fees.
I have used credit unions and regular banks. The credit unions are less expensive but it's hard for me to build up my savings. I feel like I am not doing my part if I don't save money every month. I just keep getting wiped out by emergencies.
In the past I could take a direct deposit advance from my bank and pay it back quickly. They stopped doing that and now when I need money on the quick I don't have many options. I tried using some payday loan places but I didn't like going inside. So I am learning to manage my money better thanks to the bank but I wish I could take those advances once in a while.
And standing in line at a bank or credit union is a pretty tiring experience. I'm glad we have apps for our phones now but I can't always deposit checks with an app. So I drive to the bank and use the ATM machine but there is always a line there too.
What I need is a bank that will loan me money without asking questions, that will wait on payment, and it won't charge me outrageous fees. :)
Or I could use a better job but going back to college is not an option for me. I don't know why Obama keeps telling everyone he's done good for the economy. I don't feel that way. The only good economic news for me lately has been the drop in gas prices. I think we can thank Saudi Arabia for that.
