Money Saving Ideas that Are Often Overlooked

Not every idea for saving money has been well researched. Here are some good ideas.

Saving money is the first step to financial success.  It won't do you much good to increase how much money you make if you are not actually saving it.  And to that end I wanted to look at some Websites that actually teach people how to save money, and not just talk about how important it is.  So let's get started.

First up is the Moneytime blog.  This is one of my favorites because it is packed full of ideas including using the Internet to save money on utility bills, making money with wholesale club memberships, and managing small expenses with prepaid debit cards.  It's a great little site. Be sure to check it out.

Remember the old adage, "time is money"?  I found that this personal time management systems site has some pretty good advice on how to save time.  You can learn how to save time during your workday, how to save time while watching TV, and how to save time while doing your holiday shopping.  These are incredible ideas and I am surprise there aren't more people talking about this site.  It's not just hawking some time guru's book.

If you want to live the frugal lifestyle, which is the ultimate in saving money, then you should check out the Frugal Living blog.  I especially like articles including the before and after frugal test, how to get free or discount prescription medicines, and how to save money by saving time.  That is the old "time is money" thing at work again!

Another cool site to check out is called Savage Cash.  This guy caught my attention with an article on how to teach your children to use favor coupons.  That is a pretty radical idea because your kids are introduced to economics and business concepts at an early age through a game-like reward system.  That is just so cool.

Another site that shows promise is called Bold Moves.  I really enjoyed his article on how to save money on gas.  Gasoline is something we have to burn.  So if you are burning a lot of gasoline then the less money you spend while doing so the better.  Most people probably do not think about ways to save at the gas pump, but maybe that is changing.

And that concludes another successful round up of great ideas across the Web.  I hope you find some good ideas out there!
